It started with tracking bees, and a government challenge to help reduce crime
Rivercity Innovations was launched as a result of growth from winning the inaugural Innovation Saskatchewan Rural Crime Challenge, working in conjunction with Innovation Saskatchewan and the Government of Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Corrections and Policing. What started as a solution created by Jeff Shirley to prevent theft of beehives at their family farm Blue Heron Gardens, has since expanded into designing, building, and delivering sensors and data monitoring solutions from ground up to clients worldwide. Our LoRa and cellular GPS trackers are sold under the brand BeeSecure, and are just one example of how we have delivered a solution to help solve a problem.
Today Rivercity Innovations employs an experienced and diverse team, including an engineering staff led by Lance Pitka with his directly related experience in digital signal processing. We engineer sensors, software, and unique solutions to help our clients solve their problems.
We are proudly based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and employ largely Saskatchewan educated graduates who hail from Canada, Bangladesh, Philippines, China, and other locations – all experts in their related fields.
